HOW USEFUL IS BOMB SUPPRESSION BLANKET (BSB) AND BLAST CONTAINMENT RING (BCR) ?

Bomb Suppression Blanket (BSB) and Blast Containment Ring (BCR) are suitable for use in Railway Stations, Important Trains, Airports, Bus Terminals, Post Offices, Weekly Markets, PCR Vans, Control Room in Festivals/Fairs and Theaters etc.

The Blast Containment Ring is first placed on its edge around the suspected bomb/improvised Explosive Device (IED) and the Bomb Suppression Blanket is then placed over the Blast Containment Ring and suspected bomb, while awaiting examination. This combo deters side fragmentation discharge as well as top discharge. (The Bomb Suppression Blankets are used in conjunction with the Blast Containment Ring) Should a detonation or explosion occur, the ring directs the force of the blast upwards and the Blanket flexes and contains most of the fragments created by the

explosion, so that the damage to personnel or property in the area is considerably reduced. It provides prompt and effective method for dealing with suspected packages.

Bomb Suppression Blanket (BSB) is available in two sizes :

100 × 130 cms, 100 × 150 cms, 130 × 150 cms, 150 × 200 cms. or any other size as per the customer's requirement.

Blast Containment Ring (BCR) is available in :

43 × 100 cms, 43 × 130 cms, 43 × 150 cms. or any other size as per the customer's requirement.

The Bomb Suppression Blanket (BSB) and Blast Containment Ring (BCR) will protect 17 grain steel fragments with V50 of 415 to 650 mtr/sec. and divided in three different protection level, namely :

F1- 415       -     470 mtr/sec.
F2 - 490      -     570 mtr/sec.
F3 - 590      -     650 mtr/sec.

V-50 Fragments - it is the average velocity at which half of the fragments penetrate the material and half are stopped within a specified
velocity spread.

The Bomb Suppression Blankets are Ballistically Test Approved by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence, Terminal Ballistic Research Laboratory (TBRL) under DRDO.
